The Pittsburg City Hospital, Medical & Surgical
Institute was organized and chartered on May 25, 1894
by Drs. F. I. Walker, G. W. Williams,
A.
O. Blair, William
Williams and A. C. Graves. It was located at 311 W. Eighth
Street in a building that the city built for them in
1897. In 1908 the name was changed to the Pittsburg Samaritan
Sanitarium. Other doctors that practiced there during
its operation was Dr. R. R. McDonnel, Dr. R. W. McLaren,
Dr. A. M. Brewer, Dr. T. W. Caffey, Dr. Mollie M. Caffey
and Matilda J. Lang. It was closed in 1912
