The Industrial Arts Building, now known as Whitesitt Hall, was the second building built on the campus and was opened in 1913. It was also the first building in the United States to use the name "Industrial Arts" in its title. It was rededicated in 1965 as Whitesitt Hall, after Andrew Harmon Whitesitt, head of the wood working department in 1913. He became the head of the Department of Industrial Education in 1918 and remained in that post until he retired in 1935. He continued as a fulltime teacher until his death in 1942. Additions were made to the building in 1917, 1957 and 1965.
