This picture is of the first Eugene Field School building, also known as East School, that was built in 1891 at a cost of $25,000. In 1929, a new two-story brick building was built on the site, the building there today. Eugene Field School was closed in 1994 and consolidated with Lincoln School in the new Meadowlark School on East Twenty-Third.
